An alternative to Microsoft Outlook
Having trouble with the Outlook’s 2GB pst file limitation? According to
Microsoft has a 2GB size limit on the Outlook personal folders (.pst) and offline folders (.ost) file types [for Outlook versions prior to Outlook 2003]. Once the folder size reaches or goes beyond that size limit the file will not be useable even if you delete items.
Apparently with this limitation, many are finding older versions of Outlook to be really troublesome when the limit has reached. If you’re seeking for an alternative to Microsoft Outlook, check out the recently lauched Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop.
Some cool features:
- It’s FREE with no missing features or catches
- Incorporate all accounts in one place. Zimbra Mail, Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, AOL, Outlook or any other work or personal email account using POP or IMAP
- You need not connect to the internet to read your mails. It’s a standalone installation just like any other desktop software.
- On modern Web 2.0 Ajax technology
Some disadvantages of Yahoo Zimbra Desktop:
- Still in beta version so no support available.
- Not recommended to run this beta version in production environment.
- This free version does not have a pst importer.
For those wanting to import your outlook pst into this free version, you can try to upload all your e-mail & folders via imap, export your calendar to ics, and contacts to csv and then import them into Zimbra Desktop.
I think this software is really a neat alternative to read your mails, manage calendars, contacts, document, tasks, briefcase. There’s no other free software which is able to go head to head with Microsoft Outlook. So head on over to Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop to download a copy today.

Mikä ihmeen into teillä on tehdä näitä koneellisia käännöksiä? Ei sanasta sanaan voi kääntää kielestä toiseen, peelot!
What miracle enthusiasm you have is to do these hangdoc mechanical translations? No word word butter translate language second, stupid!
In case you’re not convinced yet, here a retranslation of part of your jibberish:
“Ilmeisesti avulla nyt kuluva rajoittaminen, usea aari löytäminen vanhempi käännös -lta Ajattelutapa jotta olla oikeastaan hankala jahka kaventaa has ehtiä.”
“Apparently with help of now eroded limiting, many hectare to find older translation -lta Way of thinking in order to be actually difficult as long as enroach has to make it on time.”
…
Why in the hell do you think you can translate from one language to another word-by-word? It just _CAN’T_ be done. This “finnish” page is completely useless, it’s impossible to understand _ANYTHING_ that is said here. Please hire real translators to do the translation. This kind of unintelligible pages just do your business harm.
Please get rid of this page - and all other you have - they are ridiculous.
Thanks,
Äpärä

Oops, the English page is just fine. I’ll comment on the Finnish page which was my original intention, had I understood the “translated” comment fields.
Dear Apara,
Thank you for pointing out the jibberish finnish translation. Since all the translations were done automatically through an automated plugin, I really don’t expect much quality from them.
I will consider removing the finnish language as well as any other languages which translates to jibberish. It will depend on how much web traffic is affected by simply removing the languages.
Would you be able to help me translate some of my content? Also, do let me know if you would like to contribute any articles. I will be happy to just publish them here.
Thanks again for reading my site.
