QB is an excellent piece of software and successfully installed in a large number of shops. There are two alternatives that we recommend that all our prospective clients evaluate: Cash Register Express and CounterPoint. The latter is cheaper than QB, but has very similiar functionality. In fact, it handle restaurant really well, which QB cannot. CounterPoint, on the other hand, is a bit more expensive than QB, but it is considerablly more powerful. It's appropriate for stores that have outgrown Quickbooks because of multiple locations and/or sophisticated requirements.

You can learn more about both of these software packages at www.rapidpos.com. There are certainly 100s of other alternatives, but we believe you can't go wrong with one of these.
